My grandmother was the late Flossie Wykle who lived in the DeBusk community. She had several old photos and in them, I found two photos with Ealy school written on the back of them. Carl Fillers, who volunteers at the Elmer T. Cox center told me where the school used to be located. I found your site and Don Miller suggested I ask you my questions.
I am attaching a copy of the two photos that I found. I enlarged them in order to get clearer faces. Would it be possible for you to find out who these children are in these photos or know of someone that I could contact that might know? I am wondering if my grandmother is one of the children in the picture since she had the photos. There is no date on the photos just the handwritten words "Ealeys School". One of the ladies that I had to look at this picture thought that Madeline Harmon was the older girl on the 3rd row and possibly the girl in the middle of the 2nd row was a Ruth Harold and then to her left maybe Mamie Lee Kesterson. The young girl on the right end of the 1st row, possibly Addie Harmon. This is all she could come up with. From: cindy_fth@adelphia.net [mailto:cindy_fth@adelphia.net]
Hello Mr. Rader, I have visited your web site and saw the cemetery photos that you had listed regarding the Ealy cemetery located at DeBusk. I am trying to find out some information regarding Ealy school. I think there is possibly a connection between the two. I would appreciate any help you can give me regarding these pictures and look forward to hearing from you. -Have a good day! Cindy Higgins |
