THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF GENETIC GENEALOGY

TIME: 1PM - 2:30PM
PLACE: Belle Cooledge Library
5600 South Landpark Drive Sacramento, CA
Genealogical & Historical Council of Sacramento
Valley
Formed in
the fall of 1988, the Genealogical and
Historical Council of Sacramento Valley is comprised of individuals and
organizations working together to exchange information, coordinate calendar
events, avoid duplication of group projects, and encourage the preservation
and accessibility of records of genealogical and historical value.
This list is a service of the Council. It's purpose is to
allow Local Groups to announce their activities to those local researchers who
are interested. A local researcher can add or delete himself to the list as the
mood strikes. Anyone who is subscribed can send an announcement to the
subscribers to the list. As of May 2001 there are over 200 subscribers so if
you want to increase your meeting size just announce it on this list!
Briefly (very),
people can subscribe to the list in mail mode by sending a
message
to
CA-SACRAMENTO-EVENTS-L-request@rootsweb.com
that contains the word
subscribe
and nothing else.
If they prefer digest mode, they should send the command
instead to
CA-SACRAMENTO-EVENTS-D-request@rootsweb.com.
To unsubscribe,
they should send the command "unsubscribe" to
CA-SACRAMENTO-EVENTS-L-request@rootsweb.com
(if in mail mode) or
CA-SACRAMENTO-EVENTS-D-request@rootsweb.com
(if in digest mode.) To switch from one mode to the
other, they should unsubscribe from one and then subscribe
to the other.
There is no "no mail" mode -- if they want messages to
stop, they should simply unsubscribe.
To post to both CA-SACRAMENTO-EVENTS-L and
CA-SACRAMENTO-EVENTS-D, messages should be sent to
CA-SACRAMENTO-EVENTS-L@rootsweb.com
Messages sent there will appear both places.
