without computers. All of the students wanted to move to the classroom where we
have computers and access to Ancestry paid for by the school. Some of the items
planned are Learn to use the internet to find your ancestors. Use
http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/ a free genealogy program to import and
export GEDCOM family tree files and create books using the

workshop What is a GEDCOM
What is
GEDCOM? It is a file format,
developed by the Family History Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints (LDS) to provide a flexible and uniform format for
exchanging computerized genealogical data. GEDCOM is an acronym for
GEnealogical Data COMmunication. A GEDCOM filename ends with the extension of
*.ged (like smith.ged).

retrieving different types of data or
information and inserting it
(with or with out revision) into a genealogy
program? Statements, graphs, pictures, parts of a web page, pages of a book,
etc. Scan documents or pictures and add comments (identify the contents)?
2. say you have a Legacy
database with your own research. You get info from an email about one line and
enter it. Then you are able to download a gedcom on the same line with lots of
notes and maybe slightly different info. Is there a preferred method of making
useful citations of the info in Legacy?
What is the best way of handling conflicting
info? And then you find further info. What happens to the citations?
